About Deborah Hilton’s Practice
I have 15 plus years in the healthcare industry across a number of specialities and am currently also a Registered Nurse. I am presently operating as a mobile and online service. My hour long sessions are tailored to your individual needs using Strategic Psychotherapy only or combined with Clinical Hypnotherapy. I am able help children and adults from the age of 7yrs and upwards.
This is a brief intervention therapy usually requiring only 4-6 sessions. This can help to change your current processes and patterns of thought and behaviour so that you become more effective in your everyday life. Strategic Psychotherapy looks at how you maintain a problem and then we can seek to disrupt these old patterns.
During Hypnotherapy the client is eased into a “trance like” state where they are more open to suggestion of change. A trance is just a narrowed focus of attention. You are in complete control the whole time and can come out of trance whenever you want to. Most clients find it helpful to relax with their eyes closed although children usually focus better with their eyes open. The majority of client’s find the experience relaxing and enjoyable.
Each hypnotherapy is recorded so that you can listen to it as many times as you want to. I recommend at least 5 times a week. The recordings can be revisited after the therapy is completed if there is a particular part that needs more focus.
Once you have learnt these new processes you will have the skills for life.
Areas in which I can help are anxiety, including social and performance anxiety, stress, worry, Smoking Cessation and other addictions, Pain management and Insomnia.
I can also help with food relationships but this is usually a longer programme that will be specifically designed for you. A 3-6 month committment is usually required to ensure that thoughts and behaviour around food are long lasting.
Gaining freedom from ruminating thoughts can allow creativity and enjoyment of life.
