About Derek’s Practice
Derek has over 15 years experience of helping people address grief and trauma and the issues it causes in people’s lives. His focus is on addressing the underlying cause rather than the symptoms. He has worked in Allied Health, EAP and Private Practice.
Derek is an ACA Registered Clinical Counsellor, and Clinical Supervisor, and Accredited EMDR Practitioner, He is also a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor with 5 years experience in Community Health.
“I’ve worked as a counsellor in the UK and now Australia, with extensive experience across Allied Health, EAPs and Private Practise.
I’m an Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Registered Clinical Counsellor, and Clinical Supervisor, with a Masters Degree in Counselling.
Also I’m an Accredited EMDR Practitioner with the EMDR Association of Australia.
I hold the qualifications for Victorian Allied Heath Drug and Alcohol Counsellors and worked 5 years in Community Health.
Also a Professional Member of the Australian Hypnotists Association (AHA), with a Diploma from the Australian Hypnotherapy College (AHC). The AHC is the only Australian College, recognised and approved by the International Association of Counselling Hypnotherapists.”
