Jo Lauren is a trauma informed Counsellor and Hypnotherapist and has trained and worked in the areas of Trauma and anxiety, Grief and Loss, PTSD, Perinatal Loss and Bereavement, Hypnobirthing, Fertility, Hormones and Weight Management. She maintains her commitment to ongoing professional and personal development, to ensure her clients always receive the highest possible level of service. Ongoing study and training are something that Jo Lauren enjoys allowing her to explore new and innovated ways of working with her clients.
Over the last 15 years Jo Lauren has worked in various counselling and hypnotherapy roles working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, to assist people to bring about positive changes in their lives. Having worked in the fields of grief and loss, family and domestic violence, trauma, depression and anxiety, fears and phobias, addictions, fertility, and relationship/family counselling she has incorporated the use techniques developed from the modalities of counselling and hypnotherapy believes these are respectful and gentle ways to create meaningful and long-lasting changes as well as being empowering and dynamic and even a little bit fun.
She is passionate about education and training and has provided workshops related to counselling skills, risk assessment – particularly suicidal and homicidal ideation as well as self-harm. Jo Lauren creates a safe place for students to explore their motivations and fears in working with clients at risk whilst challenging them to develop and sustain a confidence as they explore the complex needs of their client’s.
Jo Lauren maintains memberships with relevant professional bodies including the Professional Hypnotherapists Association, Hypnotherapy Council of Australia, Australian Counsellors Association and COPE.
