About Linda Black’s Practice
I enjoy working with women and that’s what my practice focuses on.
I believe that it’s time now for us to become a powerful force for change in the world and to do that we need to do to have emotional intelligence and the skills to be able to regain emotional equilibrium as we navigate life. It doesn’t matter what age we are because I also believe that retirement is a beginning, not an ending of our meaningful engagement in the world. It can offer us freedom to do what inspires us, sometimes turning to passions we had years ago that we had to drop at the time.
Ageing can be a positive experience, a time when we speak up and speak out for the common good. We can thrive at any age!
The main focus of my practice is to help women generally, with fears and phobias, mild to moderate depression, protracted grief or loss and as they approach major life transitions, in particular, the transition that begins with menopause.
I want to help them see the positive potential this stage of life can offer them and help them navigate their way over the threshold; to be optimistic and healthy in body, mind and spirit. Passionate about what matters to them now, at this stage of life, and empowered to engage with the world in their own way and on their own terms.
I am also a professional public speaker and I talk about how we can thrive as we age. My main aim is to upend the negative stereotypes we have of ageing so that we can live this stage of life from a place of inner freedom earned through our life experience and speak with our own authentic voice. Until we can see how biased those stereotypes are we run the risk of simply accepting them as unconsidered facts and expect to live them out ourselves. Ageing is not an illness! Chronic conditions are and because they are incubated within us over many years before they show up in the later stages of life it can seem as if they are expressions of ageing itself. Not true!
Fundamentally I think that one of our most enduring purposes in life is to shed our uncomfortable conditioning and gradually reveal our own authentic self that’s been within us all along.
